Recycling: The Alternative to Disposal
Safeway Environmental Services, Inc. offers industry an alternative to disposing of waste materials that carry cradle-to-grave liabilities by using technologically safe and environmentally sound recycling programs. Our association with various EPA approved recycling companies provides you the generator with technology that eliminates or lowers disposal costs.
Ignitable Wastes: that are typically sent for fuel-blending and energy recovery may meet the criteria for solvent reclamation. Clean reclaimed solvents will be sent back to you for reuse at discount prices.
Ignitable Wastes: that are not appropriate for reuse will be sent for fuel-blending to a properly insured and part "B" permitted TSD facility at low disposal costs. EPA recognizes the fuel-blending program as energy recovery in that the fuel is used in cement kilns for the manufacture of cement.
Wiper cloths or towels: used to clean painted or stained parts as-well-as printer, mechanic towels and general parts wiper rags can be solvent washed (no waste water discharge) and reused by your plant employees.
Gloves, absorbent pads, booms or pillows: used throughout industry may be appropriate for recycling and reuse. These products are also offered for purchase and are recyclable.
Metal bearing wastes: typically sent to landfill for permanent storage will be tested for metals value and recovery. This is an appropriate solution for cradle-to-grave liabilities.
Mercury containing devices - Fluorescent lamps: are listed under the universal waste rules and should be sent for recycling. Mercury containing devices and ballast can be sent for recycling. Barrels are supplies which hold 80 (8) ft bulbs or 160 (4) ft bulbs.
